Info. and Directions for Our Field Session at Beaver Meadow Audubon Center - April 25

Trip details:
     - We will be out in it, rain or shine. I know you want to look good, but dress for the weather. The trails are muddy at this time of year.
     - In the event of dangerous weather, I will email your UB email address by 8 AM. Check. Your. Email!
     - Wear shoes/boots that can get wet and muddy.
     - Bring a lunch that you can eat on the trail.
     - Bring binoculars and a field guide to wildflowers, trees/shrubs, birds, if you have them. There will be opportunities for extra credit on this trip.
     - Location: Beaver Meadow Audubon Center, 1610 Welch Road, North Java, NY, 14113
     - From North Campus, this drive will take approximately 45 minutes.
     - Plan to arrive by 9:45. The trip will run until between 2-3 PM.

Directions:
  1. Make your way to 290 E.

  1. Take the 290 E to I-90 W heading towards Erie. Go 7.6 miles.

  1. Exit the I-90 onto NY-400 S toward East Aurora. Go 13 miles.

  1. Take the exit for Rt.20A/78 to East Aurora. (Be careful. You will pass an exit for Rt. 20/78 – Transit Road. Do not get off the 400 there. Go past this exit, continuing until you get to the exit for 20A / East Aurora).

  1. At the end of the exit ramp, turn left onto 20A E / 78. Go 2.3 miles.

  1. Turn right onto 78 S. (Just past the Yellow Goose Gas Station) Go 9.4 miles.

  1. Just after the speed limit drops down to 35 in the town of North Java, turn left on Welch Road. Go 3 miles.

  1. Pull into the roadside parking lot on the right – the one with the flagpole and the big “Beaver Meadow Audubon Center” sign.
